Behind The Scenes...
The Jewelbox

The house that housed this apartment was over 100 years old. A period 1910's southern bungalow, the home was dilapidated and the neighbors described it as the block's eyesore. In fact when we asked the neighbors to cut back the bamboo fence they replied they were too nervous to as being able to see into the yard might jeopardize the sale of their home! Wow!

This was one of my favorite projects to date as we got to comprehensively address both the exterior of the home as well as the interior. Everything about this apartment we custom crafted. The sliding barn door took over 500 cuts of wood and 1500 tacks that had to be hand hammered in. We even made our own hardwood flooring from scratch.
