Behind The Scenes...
The Tiny Aerie

Though not uncommon, one of the biggest challenges of this project was the local HOA. Because of the sensitive nature of Alta being a watershed as well as a extremely small community, there were very stringent requirements around when and how work could be completed. Workers needed to park at the base of the canyon and bus up, or get dropped of with their tools.

Alongside the updates the occurred was a paralleling sensitivity for retaining the client's experience of nostalgia and 'home' that the space had acquired after housing 3 generations of skiers.

Most of the original art was left in place, even paintings that the client's (now grown) children had made nearly 30 years ago.
